Why an Anomaly of Evolution?
In Nature, all “species” are specialized to behave within a niche, to which they are “structurally coupled.” (Maturana, The Tree of Knowledge). While their members do not have to “understand.” They are “generalists” who “know” from birth or shortly after how to behave in their specific niche.
We do not! We have to learn. It takes us three years to develop individually the “theory of self” that makes us complete human beings and a lot more to acquire competence.
It took me fifty years of walking in the footsteps of giants to become a competent generalist in the Twenty first Century. Fifty years, because of the amount of knowledge my savant specialized predecessors accumulated from the top of these same giants’ shoulders in the Twentieth.
They had to specialize because we are the only species conscious of living in space and time, the domain of everything. So, they had to enter a specialization to become competent, and thus “anomalies of Nature,” by becoming specialized individuals living in a “generalized” species. Contrary to the other living entities, who are all generalists living in specialized species.

The problem with this is that our species has become a force of Nature while discovering these forces at the quantum level (things in themselves) as individuals defining themselves in “classical terms” (appearances).
While at the same time, we are using these forces as a species behaving at the level of “things in themselves” (Nature). Thus, our natural incongruence and the need to define ourselves as individuals in “quantum terms” in terms of “things in themselves” if we want to stand a chance to resolve the problems created by the applications of a “value-free” science.
While Nature’s homeostasis controls all the other species, we must learn to control ourselves since our understanding is the anomaly that has contributed to alienating us from this natural equilibrium of Nature.
