The True Nature of Consciousness; The True Nature of Time

This is a comment that I wrote for: Duncan Riach, Ph.D.’s

My comment:

“How could the 1.4kg lump of moist, pinkish-beige tissue inside your skull give rise to something as mysterious as the experience of being that pinkish-beige lump, and the body to which it is attached?” Why can’t the world’s greatest minds solve the mystery of consciousness?

NB I am a French “learned ignorant” generalist. So, don’t look at the wording of this comment, but try to understand its essence.
When we understand that to be conscious is to be conscious “of something,” the “hard problem” of consciousness will be solved.
For example, these “guys” inside our cells are conscious “of something” of which we are not: (Right Click and “open in new tab”) and
And it goes even further down the simplicity of “life.” Jean E. Charon, in De La Physique À L’homme, is explaining the “observer effect” in quantum mechanics by postulating “proto-consciousness” of electrons.

Ourselves, as human beings, what we are conscious of is “space and time.” No other living entities are conscious of these dimensions of reality. They all live in them, but none conceptualize them as we do.
As Australopithecines and Homines, we did not “conceptualize” space and time either, but these notions were there as unconscious assumptions allowing us to “objectify” the outside world. At first, it was the rocks we were using to survive in the Savannah which needed to be there somewhere in space and in time as “objects” so we could transform them into tools. And later, as sapiens, we also used space and time as unconscious assumptions to “objectify” our “inner world” at the beginning of a not-yet accomplished journey towards self-consciousness.
Still, there was no conceptualization of space and time. It is only with the Greek and modern sciences that we eventually had to conceptualize them to understand our relation to reality and the forces behind it.
However, learned scientists and philosophers don’t have it right yet. And, until they do, they won’t be able to understand the nature of “human consciousness” regulating our behavior, as we could not understand the force of nature regulating the “Heavens” when we believe the Earth to be fixed at the center of the universe, while still discussing how many angels fit on the head of a needle — which is what we still do while speculating about consciousness as a “hard problem.”

Now, it is the mass of scientific knowledge accumulated under wrong assumptions about time which is creating the “psychological inertia” preventing scientists and philosophers from understanding the place of humanity in the evolution of consciousness.
When we understand the true nature of time, human consciousness will be readily understood by all honest mind from 9 to 99. And we will then become able to find ways to control the force of nature that humanity has become, after we understood that the earth was not fixed at the center of the universe but revolving around the sun like all the other planet.

I’m working at putting my findings about the nature of time on paper for academics as well as for the general population, in the same spirit as Giordano Bruno did about space in 1600…
