That is not fair (us openly dumbing Americans). It is not their fault; we should keep it for ourselves.
They are unfortunately (and really) blinded by the fact that they live 100% surrounded by all the American advantages!
They cannot have our Canadian perspective; we are ourselves "border-line Americans," in that 90 % of us live close to the borders. As such, through the years, we have opportunely learned to keep all the advantages of being "American" for ourselves while avoiding the disadvantage of being perceived as "dumb American" by the rest of the world.
Thus, Mercer's mistake of openly telling them.
